The Rundown: The team tries to help a local girl while a Sentinel goes after the town.
A little girl finds herself among the X-Men trying to determine if she is a mutant. An act that will cause some tension between members of the team. At the same time, Cyclops tries to deal with the new reality of living in a sentinel factory and everything else he’s lost while Magneto tries to help him through it.
When a wild Sentinel is seen heading towards the small Alaska town the X-Men are living near, Cyclops and Magneto go on the attack to stop the threat. An act that will expose that there is something wrong with Magneto’s powers. Back at her home, the little girl that thought she was a mutant will exhibit a strange ability.
The Story: MacKay delivers some great action and character moments throughout the story. I like the dialogue a lot between the characters, especially between Psylocke and Temper. There is great tension in that moment and Magneto’s talk with Scott is also really interesting. I like the immediacy of the action in the story and I continue to enjoy the mysteries being created in this series. I look forward to seeing what happens next.
The Art: Netho Diaz delivers some beautifully detailed art throughout the story. I love the visual contrast between the character moments and the action beats. A great looking issue.
